Work with me
Help with the decision in front of you
Tell me what you are working on and where you are stuck. I look at the information you have, ask questions and help you work out what to do next.
Find a problem to work on
You may have several ideas or have noticed a problem that seems worth solving. I help you look into who has that problem and what they already do about it.
The work may include reading public discussions, looking at existing products and planning questions for possible customers. You receive a written view of what is worth looking into and what still needs to be checked.
A search across several markets is a larger piece of work. I would agree that with you separately.
Decide what to build
You may need help choosing between ideas or deciding which features matter first. I help you compare the options and think about why someone might choose your product.
This can include how you explain the product, what you charge and what a small first version should do. I recommend what to test before you spend more time building.
If a technical question needs a specialist or a working model to answer it, I will say so. Building the software is separate work.
Decide what to try next
You may be struggling to find customers, turn interest into sales or get people to keep using your product.
I review what you have tried and where people stop. I consider the possible reasons and recommend a test that fits the time and money you have.
You run the product and carry out the test. Any help doing that work needs a separate agreement.
The Founder Decision Review
This is a starting service for one product or idea and one decision.
What you get
- A written summary of the decision and what matters to you.
- A review of the material you provide and any research agreed before I start.
- An explanation of the options, what supports them and what is still unknown.
- One suggested test or research task, with what to look for in the results.
- One round of questions about the written review.
- One later review of the results, with updated advice.
Sometimes the information is too limited to recommend a change. In that case, I explain what you need to find out first.
What I need from you
Start with a description of your product or idea, the decision you face and what you have tried. Tell me about any limits on your time or budget.
For an existing product, a public demo or screenshots may help. You can also describe what a customer does from first hearing about the product to using it.
Start with a summary. I will ask for more detail if needed.
Price and timing
Before I start, you and I agree on the work, the fee and the delivery date. The agreement also says when to send your test results for the later review.
More products, more research or help carrying out the work would need a separate agreement.
The review does not include running marketing campaigns or building your software. It cannot guarantee customers, sales or funding.
What happens next
- You send a short message.
- I ask any questions needed to decide whether I can help.
- You and I agree on the work and price in writing.
- I send the review. You run the agreed test.
- I review your results once, within the time agreed.
Sending a message does not commit you to paying. You do not need to buy the Brief or Kit first.
Tell me where you are stuck
Send a short description of your idea or product and the decision you need to make. I will let you know whether I can help.
